Adoption Update! and some fun remodeling :)

Wednesday!! Wednesday!! We set our appointment for our home inspection for wednesday!! Horray!! Our case worker is going to go through the rest of the process with us, and if we pass the inspection the first time, we'll be on the waiting list. :) Baby proofing will be going on for the next few days like crazy!

So we are working on fixing up our house this week and its so fun! I will have to post pictures when we are done. We are painting the nursery a buttercream yellow. Then two thirds up the wall will be two chiar rails and in between will be a strip of wainscot painted a sandy, light chocolaty color. The brown matched the bears in our bedding perfectly! I also found a valance that matches the bedding (which was difficult because they are discontinuing it a Babies 'R Us. grrr). We are painting the yellow today. Then we'll get the chair rail in a week or two. A little at a time, lol, its expensive. The guest bath, which already had a nautical theme, is going to be adorable! We put up wainscot on the bottom and painted it a greyish blue, its called washed denim and its very close to that color. Then the top is that sandy brown, with a white chair rail and right above the chair rail a border that matches the shower curtain. We are also painting one wall in our bedroom blue. We put up curtains in the kkitchen and family room, and some sconces in the family and bed rooms. The house is starting to look so warm and homey! Thank goodness my mom was here to help!!!!!

And we're waiting, and we're waiting...

So, my mom is visiting me this week and we are putting my house together. FUN! I'll have to post pictures when we are done. We are re-doing the guest bath and I've made fun plans for the nursery. Unfortunately, they discontinued our bedding at Babies R' Us, so finding the border may be difficult...

Anyway, so we'll have to Cam's second test next week. :) He asked me to pick up his "hot date" from the doctor's office. lol. :)

Good news!!! We got a call from our county social worker to set up our last step, the home inspection. I'll be calling her back tomorrow. We are having phone trouble and she called like a week ago and we just found out today. AAARRRGHHHH!!! Well, anyway, SHe was super fast with that call, so hopefully our inspection will be soon. After that, we should be on the waiting list.

It may still be a while before we get a call though. I don't know how often they do the matching meetings. Then when they think they have made a match for us, they will call us and we will meet with the social worker. They will tell us all about the child/dren, and then send us home to think about it. Which works out great for us so that we can fast and pray about it. Hopefully it won't take too long to find our child. :) Wish us luck!

Adoption Update

From Lilliput Children's Services:

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Christensen,

It is with great pleasure that we inform you that your homestudy has been completed.

We have approved your home for the adoption of two children, Male or Female, zero to two years old.

Horray!!!!!!

TMI ALERT!!! If your squeemish, don't read the first paragraph!

Cameron got the test results of his semen analysis today. Apparently 80% are immobile. I think it really bummed him out. However, I was out of town for a week after the last time we...you know. Then we couldn't until my HSG test (11 days after cycle starts). So he wonders if the motility is affected by the...inactivity. I emailed the doctor and asked about it, to see if maybe we should do the test again.

Moving on... so Cam and I are doing weight watchers, and its almost the end of week two and I am so proud of myself! I have earned a lot of activity points and I've stayed within my points, sometimes not even using all of my weekly points. On top of that, when I was in Seattle watching my sister-in-laws kids, I had a realization. Its fun to keep your house clean and pick up after kids, and make dinner for your family, if you let it be! I always thought it would be so hard, but it was so rewarding to do the dishes before bed everynight, Yes dishes!! If you know me at all, you know that is a HUGE feat for me. So, when I got home I decided to organize my life! I cleaned most of my house and I set a schedule, so that I do one peice of cleaning everyday. Then I made a menu, and set a routine for myself. Well, its been two weeks and I've stuck to it!! I've worked out everyday too! I hope nobody minds that I'm bragging on myself. lol! I've never been so proactive at keeping my house clean and making dinner and such. Plus, I love working!! It makes me feel so great to be contributing to our household. I have great students too, so that makes it really fun.

I'm still fighting with my meds a little bit and the doc is upping the dosage, but hopefully we'll get that all figured out soon.

X-ray results

I had my HSG test today. OUCH! That was a painful and uncomfortable experience... Anyway, the results were completely normal. Apparently my uterus is a good shape and in the correct plae and my tubes are clear and well shaped. WHile this is good news, I couldn't help feeling a little frustrated. How can we fix a problem if we don't know what it is?!?! If everything is normal, why don't I have kids right now? Argh. However, it is good news that my tubes aren't blocked. :)We'll talk to the doc soon, but last time we spoke his suggested next step was a higher dose of Clomid, possibly with insemination. I've been thinking about jumping straight to the laparoscopy, but the doctor toady mentioned that any surgeries run the risk of creating scar tissue. So maybe we'll try the drugs for a little while. I don't know yet. We'll see what the doctor says.

Adoption Update

We got our homestudy report on Saturday. We proofed it, then mailed it back yesterday. Once our social worker's boss approves it, they will send it to our county social worker and she will call to schedule our saftey inspection. The great news is that the report was extremely positive! She said she thought we were ready to be great parents and recommended we be approved. :) Horray!
Also, I got my test rescheduled, so I'll be doing that on the 11th. We'll see how it goes...

Christmasin Idaho 2

Cameron's family has a tradition on Christmas Eve, they pop "poppers". They are a British toy, a tube, you pull each end and it pops. Inside is a crown and a prize.
Comparing prizes dude!
Christmas Eve, setting out stockings and opening Christmas PJs!
Jon got a game with these super strong magnets and they held to his ears! It was hysterical!
Christmas Day is for game playing! This is a cool game called Ticket to Ride.

Christmasin Idaho

We had an adult dinner a couple nights before Christmas. We had yummy soups cooked by Jon, played games, and got Idaho prizes! Lol! Cam and I got some awesome potato mugs. :)

Singing Christmas Carols!
Christmas puzzles! One of my favorite holiday events.
Mmmmmm...turkey. Gobble! Gobble!
